Vosges pine tree honey has French Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) certification of origin.
This dark brown honey with its golden highlights harbours a delicate aroma of sap and pine forests, and has a slightly malted taste that hints at mint, heather and bramble.
Pine tree honey is actually made from honeydew. As such, it contains gum and dextrin products that have medicinal benefits. It is particularly reputed for its soothing effect on the respiratory tract. It is used to make succulent Vosges sweets, and is also a vital ingredient of the traditional gingerbread cake that is so prized at Christmas.
